When launching Planetside 2 and noticing the [CPU]/[GPU] indicator missing from the FPS counter, it’s helpful to know that the game includes a built-in feature to identify whether you’re CPU or GPU constrained. In my experience, using a Phenom II X4 with an HD 6770 showed GPU-bound performance, so I upgraded to the 7870XT, which made me CPU-bound, and now with the X6 I’ve found a better balance. At least in Planetside 2.
