My software for security cameras had two versions, and after upgrading I retained all my settings without any issues. Recently, I removed the old version, but some settings remained saved in the installation files. I had to search through my network to find the IP addresses of my cameras and locate them on the system. Eventually, I couldn’t find one or two and found it difficult to reach their MAC addresses. Is there a better method to locate IP cameras on a network? Maybe checking the camera settings or using another tool would help. Also, thinking about going outside to check the cameras directly could be a solution. Thanks!

On the same network, you could possibly detect them through your router's settings, such as MAC address filtering or similar options.

Your router or modem can display connected devices and their IP addresses. If not, an IP scanner can identify all networked devices and their addresses. You may need to test several addresses if the brand or camera doesn’t label them.

These suggestions are solid, but they’re similar to what I’ve already attempted. On my network many devices slip through the cracks... I repeated checking each listed item several times and still couldn’t locate it. With so many devices, I’ll need to try viewing it from the window to get a better look.
