Find ways to remove the unwanted software from your Windows system.
I've been dealing with a similar issue involving a friend's faulty HDD. I needed to transfer all files to my Linux system to bypass Windows UAC and avoid the slow process of taking ownership. After she got her new laptop, I copied everything from Windows via a network share. Unfortunately, her installation tool had a speed checker, but Windows Defender flagged it as a potential threat. I didn’t notice it because I wasn’t checking the screen, and once I did, all files were already gone from my HDD. Now Windows Defender keeps alerting me about this file, always pointing to "PC-SPEED-UP-SILENT-UPDATER.EXE," which isn’t in my backup folder anymore. The directory doesn’t exist there either. It’s stuck! I’ve tried telling it to remove it, but it won’t let go. I’m running out of options and the alerts keep bothering me. Anyone else had this problem before? It’s been a month trying, but nothing seems to work.
