I reside in India, which means few servers catering specifically to India. Mostly I connect via EUW or Singapore for gaming. Since my ISP switched to their new servers last week, my EUW ping has nearly doubled—from 150ms to about 400ms. Now I rely on external services like Exitlag to restore my ping to around 150ms. This suggests the problem lies in server routing at their end. I recently discussed this with my ISP, who seemed unhelpful. They kept advising me to check pings on their local servers in New Delhi, completely overlooking that high ping was coming from EUW. They repeatedly stated that external pings fluctuate and ignored the fact that my previous ping range was 150–170ms, not 400ms. Eventually I mentioned needing a VPN to bring things back to normal. My ISP insisted they don’t support VPNs because they don’t host their own servers and left without resolving the issue. Their response felt dismissive and unprofessional. What should I do to get them to improve routing or revert to the old server?

It's unlikely your ISP will act on their own network based on your requests. You're using an endpoint connection rather than a dedicated data path. They're correct that network conditions like weather can impact performance far away.

If they resemble Spanish ISPs, you won’t be able to. The safest choice (if available) is to move to another provider that avoids these delays between Europe and Singapore.

Experienced with a comparable situation in the UK, I had a dedicated fibre not house connection—people might assume everything would work smoothly. However, I encountered the same challenges. Whenever I bring it up, it usually gets redirected back to the copper channel (especially in England, where BT is involved), leaving my ISP unable to help.

If the ping had been only +10 or +20ms, I'd assumed it was due to weather. But with a 400ms ping immediately after the new server went live, there doesn't seem to be any issue. Probably I have to pay more just to play online games now...

Unfortunately, there are no ISPs nearby that offer unlimited 300MBps upload/download speeds, and this provider also has a fiber monopoly in the area. Switching to another ISP isn't possible.
