I have this CPU in a custom prebuilt PC. It's stock and it's running ''relatively'' hot My Asus Tuf 3070 OC stock doesnt even think about going over 65C, wish i could say the same for the CPU. I havent actually seen it hit 80C, but it's gotten pretty close. I know this is normal for zen 3 cpu's and tbf it usually hovers around 75C most of the time during Cyberpunk and Red Dead 2. It's custom built in a Asus Tuf Gaming GT501 with 6 fans and has a Cooler Master ML240L RGB V2 I dont think airflow is the Issue here because the GPU runs so cool at 65C max with 99% GPU usage It's worth mentioning that they ''optimised'' the PC for me. When i got it delivered the CPU temp didnt go over 64C and it worked great. Apart from the fact it kept rebooting itself. They told me to reset the bios, so i did. The PC stopped rebooting itself but the CPU ran considerably warmer. Which leaves me to believe they undervolted it before sending it to me. I don't know what setting they touched to make the PC reboot itself but i would like my cooler CPU back lol. Also the fucking fans. The fucking fans drive me crazy after i reset the bios. They spin way faster now. I'm currently awaiting a response from them, but that probably wont come for another 24 hours. How hard could it be to undervolt this cpu? I tried looking up a guide but nothing matched my CPU and motherboard combo. Is there some sort of software i can use instead of going into the bios? Or if anyone has this CPU/Motherboard setup and knows how to do it it would be great. Thanks
This means your CPU will come back to its normal settings again, which is typical for Ryzen 7 under heavy use. You should check with them about their default voltage profile and follow it, then increase the voltage by a small amount like 0.05 to 0.1V. Also, make sure the DOCP setting is enabled.
With AMD Ryzen Master in Windows 10, you can adjust your CPU's voltage settings. But I advise against lowering the voltage too much because it may lead to performance issues and instability. Instead, manually reduce the clock speed and lower the temperature as well, since the processor won't need to run at its maximum speed.
additionally for the fan noise, install 'fancontrol' program found on these forums. it's an amazing utility to fully customize fan speed exactly how you want on a per-fan basis. very lightweight footprint, not bloatware. best of luck.
