Initially WiFi wouldn't be able to handle that. You'd need 10 Gbps equipment which is costly like everything went haywire. From an internet perspective, unless you're Bill Gates, you couldn't justify a connection that fast in most parts of the globe. Shocking, Comcast is charging $199 a month plus $1000 for installation to get 2Gbps service.

The gear really costs little when you choose SFP+ ports. 10G Base-T setups with CAT 6/7 cable and RJ45 adapters can be quite costly—around $1000 for a switch and about $200 per PC adapter. Even though SFP+ cables aren’t cheap, they tend to be fairly short in length.
