Since Windows 7, 8 and later, the sticker is absent; the keys are now built into the BIOS.

Unless you purchased the retail version of Windows 8/8.1, you'd find a small piece of paper inside the box. However, that detail isn't included here or there.

Oh, I was just checking in. You're still on 7, right?

I discovered a method to achieve this without relying on external tools, though it employs VB script. I'm seeking an even more efficient solution.

Something better how? The Product Key is encrypted in the Registry. The VB script is doing literally the same thing as the third party tools. Extracting the key from the encrypted entry. What better could there be? Microsoft doesn't offer a 1st party tool that does this.

It appears in the registry path LOCAL MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/WinNT/Current version. It is marked as a digital product ID. You might need a converter to translate it into a readable format, or use a key finder for easier access.

I wasn't aware it was encrypted, but your explanation really helped save some time.

They're "encrypted" in hexadecimal as mentioned earlier. That's what Key Finder tools do. Your VB script isn't clear—why would you be so worried? The links we shared are all secure. If you're really concerned, disconnect your internet while using the program.

It's alright to feel cautious about security. Just used the VB script and it worked—thanks everyone for your support!
