Hello everyone,

I’m sharing my initial thoughts on the GPU selection process. I’m aiming to fully utilize my monitor—specifically a 1440p resolution with maximum graphics settings—without overspending (my current budget is around £1,000, pushing up to £1,200). I’ve already got a Gigabyte Radeon RX 7600 XT GAMING OC 16GB GPU, but I haven’t received it yet. After checking the “Buy now” option, I realized I might have made an error in choosing this model if I want to get the most out of my display.

I’m still exploring options and have heard mixed opinions. Some recommend the Sapphire PULSE AMD Radeon™ RX 7900 XT 20GB for better performance at a higher price, while others suggest the AD Ryzen 5 7600x as a solid alternative. I’m open to hearing more about what others are considering in terms of CPU choices and pairing them with the right GPU.

I’m hoping to finalize my motherboard order soon (pre-ordered for December 3rd) and then decide on the CPU and GPU within the next few days. I’ve been spending a lot on components lately, so I’m just trying to stay organized before the big build starts.

Thanks for your feedback—I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Around 150 dollars extra would have made a big difference if you were limited to that screen.
That's why we recommend buying after reading the post.
9700x CPU and 7900XT graphics card.
