It's pleasant, though I acquired it for testing. I possess a caterpillar intended for transport.

Wow, a caterpillar is it? That's the one I've been dreaming about! My goals would be to climb from Aurora CL → Freelancer → Freelancer Max → Caterpillar → Merchantman.

It appears the system is responding now. When I first played it a few months ago, I could only sit in the cockpit in the hanger. After that, I was able to use AC and even try free roam with a gamepad. For affordable ships, look for budget-friendly options that offer good value without breaking the bank.

It's great to hear that it's working. You should be able to test various Mustang models this week. For your first thoughts on what feels expensive, consider that while all ships can handle the game, some excel in specific scenarios or styles, and others will become much more valuable once the PU is introduced, shifting focus beyond just combat and racing. Upgrades are another option to reach a higher-tier ship without spending much extra. Check out this thread for more details.

Checked out the hologram ship interface and spotted some mustangs. Thought maybe I hit a glitch since I own the Mustang Omega Well. Found a ship I really want—Karthu-al. It looks stunning, but I’m unsure how to get it. I already have a racer, so I’m considering an exploration or combat ship with more space and amenities. Took a look at the Avenger; it has a nice appearance, though I’m not sure what it’s like. I don’t want to give up my Mustang.

I might have a slight preference, but I suggest the Cutlass.

The Karthu-al is a compact vessel, available only occasionally and priced around 250 credits. According to reports, the Avenger offers solid performance after swapping its two side cannons. In my experience, it handles well in free flight, provides a good field of view, and includes a bed—though it isn’t built for extended range operations. For exploration, smaller models like the Aurora ES (requires a jump drive), Aurora LX, Mustang Beta, or 315p are more suitable, with mid-sized options such as Freelancers and Constellations available. Each has an exploration variant, but all can handle missions effectively. At this stage, I’d review these choices to find the best fit, keeping in mind the specs are approximate. Currently, a trend shows military ships being heavily modified for civilian use, making them ideal starting points rather than unique firepower setups. This could shift in future updates, as seen with the Hornet F7C base model facing many complaints, though my Super Hornet builds consistently deliver strong results.

I was going through the forum and came across a post about the removal of the plus packages, it sounds like it only had the hardback engineering manual (a.k.a. modding manual). You might want to check that if you were interested in the squadron 42 manual (it does include the digital copy)... oooo there's an update... looks like the plus packages are back till the end of January too, might have to scope out what gets me the best value
