You can still retrieve the original product key if you install Windows 10 using Legacy mode. The key is not permanently deleted; it remains in the system unless intentionally removed. Back then laptops didn't save the keys in the BIOS, so that approach likely won't help. The only information I have is from a sticker you don't possess. You might want to reach out to support using your serial number. It's unclear if they keep these keys.

If it exists there, you can easily remove it using Linux. https://superuser.com/questions/637971/h...nvironment I've tried this several times to pull keys from OEM boards dating back to 4th generation hardware, and it has functioned correctly. If not, then no key is saved.

Thanks! It's version 3 (Intel i5 3360M). Reinstalling takes about 2.5 minutes, which could be worth a shot. You mentioned going back to Gen 4, and the link is for Windows 8—not 7, so I’m not really hopeful.
