Hello Forum! It's clear you're aware of the changes Google has made regarding third-party extensions. If you're using the developer version of Chrome, you might still be able to access them. Could someone share a link to the relevant resource you're looking for?

Sure, let me make sure I got it right. Could you clarify what you meant by your question?

You're using Chrome, not the development version. The link from EpicGeekonFire might be useful for you.

I’ve managed to add unofficial plugins during the standard Chrome installation: 1. Open the extensions section and turn on developer settings 2. Use a tool like winzip or similar to move the .CRX file to your desired location 3. Return to the extensions page and select [Load unpacked extension] 4. Move to the files you saved and install them

I performed that action yesterday, yet it vanishes each time I close Chrome. Is this a recurring issue?

It remains with me... This might relate to how the CRX is packaged. It's possible they'll eliminate this workaround eventually.

Google is gradually adopting traits similar to Apple. Honestly...who has the right to judge whether non-chrome extensions pose a security threat to their users? This seems like a weak excuse just to justify tighter control over Chrome users. It’s almost as absurd as forcing every Windows 8 app to go through the Microsoft store for approval.

I realized I could now install third-party extensions for Chrome because I'm using the development version! Thanks everyone!
