I’m trying to set up Linux on my Asus laptop but need to turn off safe-boot. The BIOS comes with a preset admin password, which is annoying. ASUS suggested sending it to a technician since the machine is seven years old and I’m not eager to do that. I removed the CMOS battery thinking it will reset all settings back to defaults. Can I still change or remove the password without using the BIOS?

It seems the bios password feature is disabled by default. It needs to be enabled and then set a password before loading. This doesn’t seem right.

It's not allowed to assist with accessing that device. You'll need to solve it yourself, unfortunately.

It's understandable, I hadn't considered it before.
