The cooler uses an AMD Wraith Prism with three cables. I connected two of them after taking photos, but the third cable remains unplugged. The motherboard is a Gigabyte AUG X470.

Are you planning to use RGB with it? I understand for simple tasks the one attached to the cooler is sufficient. In fact, the RGB function worked well with just that single cable, controlled directly by the board since it supports RGB internally. The additional cables are for external control of its RGB features. Regarding connections, the internal part connects to the CPU fan header, the other cables link to a USB header on the board and the final cable goes to a smaller RGB header. If needed, refer to your board's manual for more details.

You need to install just two of the three cables. One connects to the CPU fan, and the other is either 12V RGB or 5V ARGB. You can choose either one and the CPU fan cable.

This picture you shared doesn't match the Wraith Prism specifications. It appears to include additional components like a 4-Pin RGB, 9-Pin USB, and a PWM fan, which aren't part of the standard design.

I've never encountered a 3-pin RGB header before; most boards use the standard 4-pin configuration.

They rely on the same main connector, but the version with three wires lacks one component—here it’s noted: one has 5V (typically for fan RGB) and the other is 12V (commonly for RGB strips). Also: You’re welcome, everything’s sorted!
