I am really desperate. I want to play games but I don’t know what...
I used to be a huge fan of WoW... I’ve logged around 5000 hours, but since Legion, especially with BfA, it’s just the worst for both singleplayer and multiplayer.
Playing it feels lonely and disconnected from other players, like a single-player game, and you end up doing the same repetitive tasks over and over again in multiplayer... It became more focused on singleplay.
I also enjoyed CoD. I played about 2000 hours across Bo2 and Bo3 together. I especially like the zombie mode in Bo3. But now it’s hard to find lobbies for either of them.
Minecraft was a big deal for me back in 2012. But since 2014, it’s just done. Spent at least 3000 hours on it—FTB, modpacks, servers...
In the past, I loved Skyrim and Tomb Raider (2013).
I tried Rise of the Tomb Raider and Fallout 4 but really didn’t like them.
I also followed The Witcher III Wildhunt hypetrain and was completely disappointed... It’s just boring. I won’t extend the 10 hours I’ve already played.
Lastly, I didn’t enjoy the Metro games...
I just hate games where everything revolves around following NPC instructions... Rise was more about aiming while walking toward worldmarks.
Fallout 4 was the opposite—completely lost, with no idea how to progress...
Oh, I also loved DOOM 2016.
I really enjoyed the complete Bioshock trilogy. 10/10 would recommend.
What games should I suggest you try based on this?
You might already know about it, but if not, I highly suggest Terraria. It costs a few dollars during sales and you can spend hundreds of hours on it.
Absolutely, you have a lot of time available. It sounds like you're dedicating around four hours each day to gaming, seven days a week, every single year for ten consecutive years.
Try SCP Secret Laboratory for free or play multiplayer (not really scary but not meant to be). Or attempt Garry's Mod in a short time. I spent about 70 hours on it and with SCP Secret Laboratory, I ended up with at least 500-600 hours on it.
Subnautica was the top choice for me this year. It offers an open world experience, though it has a highly satisfying conclusion. Building an underwater base, constructing a massive submarine, and engaging in aerial attacks at sea are all thrilling aspects.
