After noticing all my settings shifted when I restarted, I discovered the CMOS battery needed replacing. My Razer Blade from 2016-17 (model rz09-0195) was due for a swap since it wasn’t charging and looked fine otherwise. It’s important to use the correct battery, especially with the markings—though I’m not sure what the numbers mean. I found replacement parts that list ML1220 3V clearly, but the “76” is unclear. Thanks for your help; I’m still getting the hang of this.

Computers rely on non-rechargeable CR2032 cells. The ML1220 is a common type, standard in size... ML provides details about its chemistry (Manganese Lithium). Others exist such as VL (Vanadium Pentoxide Lithium). The 1220 model measures 12mm diameter and 2mm thickness. You should choose ML1220; it's easy to locate but hard to find without soldered connections. Alternatively, you might need a battery with pre-welded pins or use heatshrink/tape for securing wires.

I meant they’re rechargeable. Just keep the laptop connected and it will recharge itself.

The heat shrink is marked ML1220, a rechargeable button cell. Simply connect your laptop for a short period and it should work. I don’t need to check the datasheet, but recharging an empty ML1220 can take quite some time—often a full day. It’s best to leave it overnight. Once it’s dead, you can find replacements at Reichelt.de, including the connector. They’re not the only option; look for other suppliers. ML1220 is just ML1220 as long as the connector matches.
