Many creators partner with G2A, which makes it seem reasonable. I purchased a Windows 10 Pro key from Kinguin for $28, and it’s functioning properly after four months. People often choose verified sellers, but I’d still take the chance—hoping the benefits outweigh any potential downsides.

I usually advise purchasing with your own judgment, though I don’t push it. I’m unsure why MS allows such situations—perhaps because they lack the authority to enforce rules in Hong Kong (unlikely), or maybe they prioritize profit over people without resources (probable).

Looking this way in black and white means focusing on genuine keys. Only those with a price over $100 are fully legitimate. The deals aren’t that cheap compared to most hardware or games, but they’re reasonable when you consider the alternatives. Using the same Windows 7 I had since 2010, most low-cost keys come from grey market sources—often purchased in places where prices are extremely low, like low-income regions, OEM units, or entry-level batches. Some work, others fail. That’s why services such as G2A and Kinguin offer protection for these keys.

I purchased my Windows 7 Ultimate key for $10 four years ago and am still using it now on Windows 10 Pro. The key wasn’t obtained from G2A but from a Microsoft Developer who was selling it on a forum. I believe the platform restricts linking to other sources when there’s a “grey” area in marketing terms. Unfortunately, I can’t reach the seller anymore.
