You need to install the SATA controller driver and create a fresh ISO file to burn to a CD if the laptop won't start without it. There are tools available to add the driver and prepare the new image.

I'm unsure about the hard drive's connection type and don't have a bootable installation disc. I'm using a USB drive instead.
