IHS refers to the heatsink, not the CPU die itself. It's acceptable to view the sides; adding a PCIe card to the bottom slot with extra USB ports would be beneficial.

It was unexpected how large these gaps are. My last CPU I used was an i5 10400 with a flush fit. It seems these parts are built to handle expansion due to heat, even at lower capacities.
