i'm not sure where the ideal forum spot is for this topic, so i posted here since it also relates to a bothersome bsod problem. i have a dual-boot setup with a 10/11 system. the 10 version runs smoothly for days without issues, but the 11 tends to randomly boot into bsod within about 48 hours—usually around 24 hours after startup. i really dislike how windows 11 altered the taskbar, and i've relied on explorer patcher to mimic the look and behavior of windows 10 or 7. it seems this patch is contributing to the instability. i also use open shell to replicate the start menu from windows 7. although i suspect explorer patcher is the culprit, i'm hesitant to uninstall it completely just to test for a few days because the taskbar would be frustrating. do you have any alternatives to explorer patcher that could make the taskbar on 11 resemble that of 10 or 7? i’m aware my system is fairly old, and there are reports of new bios introducing bugs, so i’ve stayed with windows 11 despite its quirks. specs: 7950x asus 670e-e, asus tuff 4090, mobo bios version 1709, corsair vengeance ddr5, 64gb ram (2x32gb), 6000mhz, wd black sn770, 1tb drive (this is the one with windows 11). evga 1300 watt supernova gt psu, running windows 11 version 23h2.

Have you performed a new Windows 11 setup? Local updates might cause some issues. Besides the Start menu appearing odd (I've adapted over time), I'm not certain other changes differ much from Windows 10/7. If it's about everything aligning perfectly, that's a straightforward solution. I previously used Startisback with Windows 10 to fix the start menu design, though the fixed items in Start remain functional in Windows 11.

I performed a complete setup of Windows 10 and then Windows 11 right after assembling the PC. Regarding the taskbar, I prefer having all icons appear automatically when I select them. It seems this functionality has been removed in Windows 11, which is frustrating for me. Additionally, I enjoy moving everything to the left side, though you noted there are alternative methods available.

I understand the situation, but this approach isn't recommended: setting up Windows 10

Uncertain about the status of Startbackle. It seems to be non-functional on my desktop yet operational on my Windows 11 tablet.

Visit C:\Windows\Minidump to see if any minidump files exist. If present, return to the Windows directory and transfer the entire Minidump folder to the Downloads folder (use your desktop if needed). Compress the copied folder and include it in a message.
