Find a better Wi-Fi connection.
Hello, I'm trying to boost my home Wi-Fi but I'm unsure whether a mesh system or additional access points would be better. I considered the TP-Link AX1800 and Google Nest Wifi options. It's a multi-story home with concrete walls. Thanks for your assistance!
An Access Point functions as a basic Wi-Fi device, typically found in business environments, serving mainly as a Wi-Fi switch that connects a LAN link and lets wireless devices access it. Consumer gadgets often perform several tasks such as Router, Modem, or Switch. In most cases, an Acess Point relies on a LAN connection via a network cable. Mesh technology leverages wireless uplinks to broaden networks without a fixed return path to the central hub. Modern access points employ this approach to boost Wi-Fi coverage in both home and commercial areas. Generally, there is one primary connection point using traditional cables, while nodes join the network wirelessly, needing only power instead of a dedicated line.
Check if each level has network ports available. If so, consider a single hard-wired port with wireless nodes spread across the rest of the floors.
Yes, I have several network ports on each level. For a mesh setup, only one port will remain wired.
