I’m looking at moving out of my parents’ house but with budget constraints and expensive fiber internet. I’m thinking about getting a 4G router. However, the SIM I bought is tied to a contract with only 200GB per month, which fits my current mobile plan. I don’t want to constantly connect my phone to my PC via USB for tethering, nor do I want to buy another wireless card. I’m unsure if there’s a way to get a 4G router that meets these needs without compromising my setup. Could anyone advise? Also, are there other options I should consider? Thanks!

Many 4G LTE routers with WiFi offer a feature that demands the SIM stay inside the device. Taking it out breaks connectivity to the cellular network, just like removing your phone's SIM causes the same issue.

Can you clone a sim card so you can reuse the same number on your router and phone?
