Because of health concerns I’m off work for about four weeks and will need rest, I want to revisit Final Fantasy again—my favorite game—but I’m open to other good options too. Controller support is important, so I’m looking for titles that fit that requirement. Any suggestions?

My top choices are FF 3 and FF 7. Steam FF 8 wasn’t my favorite, especially since the story fell short for me. If you own a PS2, FF 10 also stood out positively.

Could yield a response of seven from the controller.

These two games offer the best experience on Steam, while saving VII and III for later.

FF VIII remains the top Final Fantasy experience for me. Give it a shot!

ff7 stands out in my mind as the top pick among these titles. ff6 (ff3 on Nintendo) was close behind, but both are among the favorites. My take is clear: 1. ff7, 2. ff6, 3. ffx, and the rest fall short.

From the reviews on Steam, FFIV and FFIII are limited to 15 fps during combat. This is likely because they're ports of the Android version, which itself is based on the DS version. Be mindful of that. Still, FFVII seems like the strongest choice among these options due to its smoother performance. If you're not concerned, go with IV—it ranks high in my list for Final Fantasy titles. Avoid III, as it's a poorly written adaptation of V. Or skip Steam entirely and purchase FFXIV; otherwise, I’d be playing that game right now if the budget allowed.
