Yes, fill all spaces. On my 3600XT I noticed an improvement of 4 sticks versus 2. The best spot to observe would be AIDA64. It's not huge, but it's present and clear, and consistent.

Without a Quad Channel CPU, the performance gap between two sticks and four sticks would be minimal.

It's a small variation, though it exists. If you're using a Ryzen, the easiest spot to notice it is in AIDA64. Your quickest SuperPI results often used four sticks.

Your system might not be limited by RAM, only by CPU speed. A faster processor would likely help more than adding more memory. It could be another issue beyond the CPU, especially since you're using a 3900x. More RAM won't speed up games much, and even the fastest SSD won't change performance significantly. You probably have many open tabs and all programs running at startup, which can slow things down.

Interleaving is something worth considering—rank it high. While I don’t require 32GB, the performance boost from 4x8 versus 2x8 is clear and hard to match with a quick single-rank configuration. I also saw comparable results in Zen 2, though not identical.
