I changed the settings of my PC’s storage components, but the download speed over Wi-Fi dropped significantly to 0.4 Mbps, down from 80 Mbps previously. Someone might have noticed this change.

Have you switched to the same WiFi adapter as before? What is your connection speed and signal quality to the access point?

Same as before, correct? I attempted 5GHz and 2.4GHz, they worked together.

I updated my motherboard and connected a USB WiFi adapter. I installed the drivers for the new setup. The link speed is fast, and the signal strength to the access point is strong.

The WiFi adapter model is not specified. I did not carry out a fresh Windows installation following hardware modifications.

I'm testing a wifi USB adapter, another PC has it working while mine doesn't. The connection speed is 100mbps, but I can't measure the signal strength. The SSD hasn't been changed, so the driver should already be installed. On my last setup it worked fine. I reinstalled the driver but didn't get any results.

I believe the issue isn't with the adapter itself, since it functions on another system too. The problem might lie elsewhere in the setup.

When you significantly alter your system, drivers often become unreliable. Previous versions might still exist, and conflicts could arise. A motherboard replacement usually means a clean install is wise to ensure drivers are current.

I don't have the key either. I'm using Windows activated, but it's gone now. I lost it. I installed Windows about seven years ago on that SSD.
