Hey everyone! I’m facing a few challenges with my projects. First, I need to transfer the work from my host machine to a USB or laptop and then upload it again. Second, I can’t make changes right away; when I’m at home, opening the network drive in Studio Code works instantly. Do you know if it’s possible to connect to a VPN and access my network drive from home? That way, I could use the usual setup even when at school. Any suggestions would be great!

VPN would function effectively. Consider alternatives such as Next Cloud.

Set up the free OpenVPN or SoftEther on your device at home or elsewhere. I rely on SoftEther frequently for remote access.

The optimal long-term method is to leverage GitHub or comparable platforms. My main alternative would be Dropbox (or Seafile for self-managed) with a VPN connection. However, network shares over VPN can be slow; for large projects this might become problematic. Additionally, if the VPN disconnects while saving files, you could encounter complications.

Wanted to chime in and say Dropbox has the luxury of letting you designate a folder to sync which you can setup on as many devices as you want. So anything in that folder will be replicated to dropbox and then to every other device logged into it. This gives you the advantage of workig off the file locally and quickly, while by the time you get to school it should be done syncin'g and ready to work on.
