7900xtx also works with Gen 3, no issues there. It should function similarly to the 6800XT. If it doesn’t detect it, try another model.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Just a few more perspectives would be helpful before finalizing.

I managed to acquire a friend's 7900xtx, which functions perfectly and performs exactly like the one I own. No differences observed.

I placed an order for a new power supply, as my system is quite old—likely from around 2013 or 2014. I’m wondering if that’s related to the issue, since I can’t think of anything else that might be causing it. The only thing that seems normal is that the power supply functions perfectly with my 6800xt model. Although the 7900xtx draws more power, I doubt a problem would show up here. Right now I’m really confused and stuck.

I swapped the 10-year-old EVGA 1300w G2 power supply for the EVGA 1300w GT, but there’s no change—my card and my friends’ cards still don’t appear in my system. Both the 7900xtx and 6800xt work perfectly in PCIe 16x slots on the board, yet the 7900xtx fails in any of them. I’ve used the brand-new cables that came with the new power supply, and all VGA power cables have been tested on the 6800xt. This is really strange—I’ve never faced an issue like this with a PC before. I’ve built over 20 PCs for myself and friends.

Have you tackled this problem before? It seems like you're facing the same challenge.
