Hey, I'm dealing with a problem where my FIFA 21 (and also 20) sometimes runs fine but other times feels sluggish. FPS, RAM, and CPU stats stay consistent, and no other programs are running. When it slows down, there’s no stuttering, but I notice input lag and a general feeling of slowness. Animations look off, players can’t control the ball, and it feels like playing in rough conditions. Sometimes restarting FIFA fixes things, sometimes the PC restart helps, and other times nothing works at all. It’s hard to predict when the game will run smoothly or poorly, and it doesn’t seem related to graphics drivers or updates. I’ve noticed smoother performance in the evening, but that doesn’t always happen. Any advice would be really appreciated—it’s frustrating.

I checked up on defender more and found the problem was actually there. I've been disabling real time protection before playing FIFA, and everything has gone well so far. Thanks! I've had trouble with this for over a year.

I'm sure the defender is active, or a Windows update is happening quietly.

I have already restricted Windows updates to nighttime. Regarding Windows Defender, I don't appear to have it.
