I went to my room after my roommate moved in. All the cables were plugged in securely, but my PC is struggling with the speed—only 100mbps while he’s getting 1k. The modem is a BGW320-500 with software version 4.23.4. Changing ports doesn’t help; it seems it can only handle one gigabit connection at once. I contacted support, and they’re sending a replacement modem. Any suggestions?

Is your bedroom connected to a 1 Gb/s network? Have you checked if the device in the office is actually delivering that speed? It’s unlikely. My guess is a faulty Ethernet cable. Switch it out or fix the connectors by re-securing the RJ-45s.
