Hey everyone, so my wife and I love Final Fantasy XIV a lot, and we both have pretty strong builds. I just got a new monitor that supports 2560x1440 at 90Hz, and I’d really like to get closer to that consistently. Right now I’m managing around 70-75fps, but it’s not steady. Here’s what my setup looks like: CPU – i7 3820 OC @ 4.2GHz, MOBO – EVGA X79, RAM – 16GB DDR3 1600 (quad channel), GPU – 980 Ti OC @ +200Mhz / +300Mhz, PSU – Corsair 1000W (don’t remember exact model), and I was thinking about adding another 980 Ti if prices drop on used units. But I’m starting to wonder if it’s not the GPU that’s limiting things, especially since we’re more into MMOs than FPS games like GTA. Any suggestions? Maybe faster RAM would help, or something else could be the real bottleneck?

Reduce your settings to low. And see what FPS you are getting. If it doesn't change much it's likely that CPU is bottleneck

I've already tested that, and my FPS increases significantly. If I just turn off SSAO, my FPS reaches the 100s. Although I love having SSAO enabled, it enhances the visual quality a lot. This experience made me consider adding another card, just to be sure I didn't miss anything before investing.

However, FXIV doesn't officially support SLI. Almost all MMOs do not.

It looks like the setup is working well. Check MSI afterburner to confirm GPU performance under heavy load. I think a single 980Ti should easily handle it.

FFXIV runs smoothly on SLi, and I previously used it on 3 660ti systems before upgrading to the 980ti. I’m planning a gaming weekend soon and will monitor CPU, RAM, GPU, and VRAM usage during login, then share the results.

It seems you're checking your own setup details. Based on the info from NZXT CAM, the stats show a 33% CPU load, 44% RAM usage, and 99% GPU utilization. That matches what you described with Steam, Firefox, and Chrome running in the background. Your setup looks solid for that performance level.
