Absolutely, everything gaming is about right now, especially on consoles. There are plenty of great fantasy novels that offer more immersive stories than any game. If you prefer listening, audiobooks are a great option—Audible has a huge selection of epic fantasy titles. I’ve spent many hours on those when I want to escape from gaming and there’s no anime to watch either.
I think it’s tied to the era. Around my late teens, I began playing fewer video games. I don’t really understand why, but I just don’t enjoy them as much anymore. I’ve started being much more careful about the games I pick up. Now I mostly spend my free time watching TV or movies from the late 90s to early 2000s.
