Feeling tired of playing games... it’s getting too dull.
Lately I've been feeling kind of unsatisfied with gaming. It feels like I just mindlessly plough through one game after another just so I can finish it and not feel like I wasted my money. Maybe I've been spoiled by too much Witcher 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Metro Last Light, all games that I go back to play over and over again. Probably the last thing I played that excited me was Bayonetta, and lordy is that a good game! BF1 was meh, so was Dead Rising 4, Titanfall 2, Assassin's Creed Syndicate (couldn't even bother finishing it), Far Cry Primal, COD Infinity Warfare and MGS V. Not even GTA V held my interest! Anyone else feels a bit burnt out with gaming?
I checked my game stats and found I had more than enough, so I went out to experience real life. I swapped it for hanging with friends and doing activities, but I still play PUBG after work.
Consider exploring new experiences beyond your usual gaming habits. Try different titles like the old N64 Zelda games, switch to something new such as Breath of the Wild, KSP, CIV, or PS3 classics like Last of Us. Step away from screens and engage in other activities. Connect with people, build relationships, and enjoy a break from gaming.
I can't stop thinking about it. The desire to try again keeps coming back.
I enjoy a particular hobby that consumes most of my time and occasionally brings in some income. I’m used to wanting high-quality experiences, especially when playing games that leave a lasting impact. Recently, I’ve realized I’ve been spending time on games that don’t really stand out. Now that I think about it, playing an N64 emulator and trying Star Fox would be a great idea.
I engage in activities to escape everyday reality. Right now, I'm consuming a lot!
I notice most folks using that as a way to escape issues. For me, hanging out with friends at the movies or amusement parks—even just a quick drink and some music—is a major stress reliever. I’m curious about VR and whether it could bring me back into gaming like it did before. But I’ll stick around until I get bored, which took a few months for me.
My schedule is tight with family, work, and a mortgage, but I also enjoy a hobby that consumes most of my free time. I want to get the most value from those moments by playing games effectively.
