Feeling blocked in Arma 3? Ready to try again!
Hey, I recently got global banned from ARMA 3 (I didn't hack i promise). I want to buy it again on another steam account but I want to make sure I don't get banned on that account for some reason (Just me being careful). I reported the ban to BattleEye as being a false but got no reply. I want to buy it again but I am wondering if arma 3 will remember my GUID and ban me again??? Should I uninstall it or do the bans work on CD Key's? Thanks for you help!
Let them look into it. If you admit fault, accept it. If not, you'll miss future chances.
Bans are handled using the Cd key. Before launching the game on another account, you must clear the registry in Windows. If the game runs without a ban, it will notice the missing Cd key and fetch a new one from the Steam database linked to your account. You can retain the same installation but remove the registry entry before playing with a different account. There are many guides available online for this process. Keep in mind, Battle Eye is generally accurate 99% of the time. However, there’s still a small chance—about 1%—that I was mistakenly banned four years ago when I first started playing games.
Arma 3 operates with a distinct broken system for identifying players instead of the previous Arma 2 setup. It doesn’t seem to work well with Steam accounts from other platforms. The game no longer processes GUIDs using registry CD keys. It’s surprising how thoughtful Bohemia was about this change, but their engine optimization seems limited. If you’re banned on a different account, just remove and reinstall the game.
