More similar ideas will bring some hot air into your setup from above. But aim for a slight positive pressure instead. I’d pull those panels using the button. For me, looks aren’t important. So yes, if you want your middle fan in the case, just disconnect the plug. Before making any changes, verify your temperatures and fan speeds. If you prefer numbers, why not go with 4 in 2 out? It makes sense because front intake fans need to overcome the mesh, while out fans don’t have to.
