I upgraded my GPU to RX 5700 and removed outdated drivers with DDU. Benchmarks show about 25-30% improvement over my previous GTX 1070, which is a welcome enhancement. Still, I experience frustrating stuttering in Far Cry 5 even with freesync turned on. My CPU usage can reach 100%, causing FPS drops. I know a faster GPU puts more load on the CPU, but my old system didn’t show FPS issues. Current performance is much smoother. Average frame rate is higher now. Any advice? Max. GPU temperature is around 70°C with a quiet fan setting.

you didn't experience fps drops with the 1070 since the cpu wasn't under heavy load

I understand but my frame rates have dropped significantly. On my GTX 1070 I wasn't really below 60 FPS, but now I experience drops to around 30 FPS. A 4,9Ghz 6-core i5 should be capable of handling it better.

Locking the framerate with Vsync prevents any further drops, indicating the issue is likely tied to the driver. If the problem persists, it suggests a CPU-related cause.

Are the CPU temperatures correct for the most recent AMD graphics drivers versions 19.8.1 or 19.8.2?

Adjust the frame rate slightly below your typical level.

I have a 144Hz Freesync monitor and I experimented with both Vsync on and off. I attempted 60Hz and Vsync.
I received this GPU yesterday, so I believe the latest drivers are installed. The CPU temperature varies between 60-70°C while playing Far Cry 5.
It would be helpful if I could try it. However, it's challenging because the day is much more demanding than night when I usually achieve stable 144FPS, causing the frame rate to fluctuate significantly.
I thought my Windows 10 was up to date, but there was actually a major update and I installed it. I could wipe the drivers using DDU and re-download to see if that resolves the issue.
