If the fans are PWM, you don't need a fan controller; they can be managed via software named speed fan.
How to set it up in speedfan?
You can't, because the fans aren't connected to the MB and they're not PWM.

Also, the molex adapter indicates you can link 5 PWM fans, but I only have one 5-pin header and a single 3-pin one.
I'm risking blowing out my fan header. Consider getting the NZXT Sentry 2 or using the molex adapter with your PSU.
I have this link and I connected three PWM fans to it, they all ran at full speed. I need to stop this—it sounds like a generator. I have the DeepCool gs120 fans. You should use a fan controller, connect them to your motherboard, add resistors yourself or install a fan limiter.
If they are PWM fans, you don't need a fan controller; they can be managed via software named speed fan.
How to do it in speedfan is not possible because the fans aren't connected to the MB and aren't PWM.

You won't be able to, because the fans aren't connected to the MB and they aren't PWM.
They are the ones I actually have – see here: http://imgur.com/AkKGDPr.
The molex adapter mentioned allows connecting 5 PWM fans, but I only have a single 4-pin header on my mobo and a 3-pin adapter, so I'm using the adapter for that one.

How to set it up in speedfan?
You can't connect them directly to the MB and they aren't PWM.

I connected it to that, but it risks damaging your fan header.
Using the NZXT Sentry 2 or the molex adapter with your PSU would be better.
The molex splitter powers the fan using Molex and uses the 4-pin header for PWM control.
I fixed it by connecting it to the CPU fan header.
