You're experiencing inconsistent frame rates on your 144Hz monitor with GSync, especially for Fallout 4. Since you can't enable V-Sync and don't want to cap FPS, consider adjusting your display settings or using a software solution to stabilize the output. You might also try lowering the resolution or resolution scaling in your game settings to reduce variability.

Do you need complete details? Operating system and version? Any solutions you've implemented?

Gtx 1080 with i5 6600k runs smoothly at 1440p. I’m aiming for steady performance—around 45 to 144 FPS. Lowering other settings won’t affect the lowest frame count, just the top one.

Jesus, it seems like the engine isn’t working well. I thought this was just one problem, but it’s really how bad Fallout 4 optimization is. Any idea how to cap my FPS at 60 so I don’t see the drop from 90 to 40?

Adjust the frame rate to 144 in the console. Alternatively, use a similar setting if needed.

Consola limit max 60 fps, or use fps_max set to 60. No extra format required.
