They don't turn off during the day like in NV. It might need a special mod, but it's really annoying right now. Have you experienced this before or discovered a fix?

It adds authenticity since it wouldn't function in reality.
I just rechecked the option and noticed "switch off," which makes more sense now—really frustrating, especially since I've never played either.

I saw that too. To be honest, the only firearm I've used with an NV scope was the .38 pipe rifle, and it's clear I didn't need one because there wasn't much effective range. Eventually, I took it off to avoid any further issues.

It isn't that bright, yet it works during the day. Still, it's really annoying to notice this. I plan to send a bug suggestion to Bethesda, though I hope they don't consider my feedback.
