Hello, I purchased the Ryzen 5700G to upgrade from my Ryzen 2000 series. I’m using an MSI X470 Gaming Pro motherboard and checked for compatibility. After downloading the BIOS, I updated it but noticed a red light under the CPU even after the update. When I reinstalled the original 2000 series, everything worked perfectly. This suggests there might be compatibility issues with my board rather than damage to the CPU itself.
It remains active with the most recent update suggested for the 5000 series processor. I verified the system details and checked the BIOS settings.
Have you checked for the latest motherboard BIOS? Is your board's newest BIOS compatible with that chip? I recently switched from the 2700X to the 5800X3D and had to install many BIOS updates. In 2022 I was still using the pre-release 2018 version. Good news for ASUS, their BIOS supported the 5000 Series. I don’t know what other manufacturers offer.
