I changed to Linux some days back, using Zorin OS. Right now I’m facing trouble downloading files from Brave and a few other browsers—this happened today. In Google Chrome I can download things like images without issues, but I can’t use the "Save image as" option. No error messages appear. Firefox works fine; when I tried to save an image it would freeze for about ten seconds before downloading. After that it functions normally. I also notice Firefox freezes on the first click of "Save image as," but after a restart it works again. Anyone know what’s behind this problem?

As discussed in the comments, consider enabling "Preferred Ozone Platform" as "auto" via chrome://flags.

It seems the restart helped, even though someone said the issue would return after a while. I didn’t want to restart because I keep my computer on 24/7 for maintenance, but I realized using a Raspberry Pi might be better. It would eliminate the need to use my computer and should fix the slow file manager loading time. Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but it looks like a better solution.

Consider whether including this would resolve the issue permanently or just delay it.

Wait a few days before tackling the solution.

It seems you're inquiring about the length of a piece of string. The focus isn't on technical details but rather on practical aspects. If the device is outdated, the issue might lie in manual operation. For advanced systems, a software-related concern could be more likely.

These specifications seem unexpectedly slow. I usually rely on Linux Mint Cinnamon and never run into such issues. I’d anticipate a boot time of around 20–25 seconds, which might affect your internet connection.
