Failed to access AM2+ eMachines BIOS multiple times—probably needed a different approach.
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice. At first I thought my speed, pressure or settings might be the issue. Then I tried a different USB port, but it didn’t help. I can’t access the BIOS now. The machine is the one from Newegg (https://www.newegg.com/emachines-el1352-...6883114085), which now has an Ahtlon II X4 and more RAM. I also turned off quick boot, but it didn’t make a difference. I’m running out of ideas.
Thanks for the ideas, I'll give them another shot. When I restart, I notice a small prompt saying "Press Del to enter setup" for the first time. Could it be hidden or not visible? I was planning to discard this machine since most people said the motherboard wouldn't support a quad-core processor or additional RAM. Luckily, I found a 635 model for $10 and it performed well after adding more RAM and a 250GB drive. I'm satisfied with it for office use but wanted to test some settings adjustments. I'm not familiar with BIOS details, though. Thanks! I'll check if my old keyboard still works. The original came with a PS2 motherboard, while the current one uses a Chinese USB adapter.
