You're facing a common concern when upgrading operating systems. It's understandable to worry about losing important files, especially if you rely on them for work. Regarding your situation, it seems you want to upgrade from Windows 7 Professional 32-bit to a 64-bit version without affecting Office 2010. Unfortunately, the process of switching OS versions can result in data loss if not done carefully. However, there are ways to minimize risks:

- Use a backup before starting the upgrade.
- Consider using a live USB or installation media to test changes safely.
- If possible, keep a copy of your Office 2010 files on an external drive or cloud storage.

Upgrading to a 64-bit version typically won't affect Office 2010 unless you're upgrading to a newer version of the application itself. You might want to explore Windows 7 Pro's upgrade options or check if your current version supports 64-bit without losing Office. Always back up important data before making changes.

There might be some issues preventing a simple reinstallation of the office.

You're not just updating your operating system; you're adding another version. This process often clears everything on your drive, meaning all files and programs disappear. You'll need to reinstall everything again. If you face issues reinstalling due to some reason, it means you might lose the program. Usually, if you previously purchased office software, you can simply reinstall it, which is typically the same for other applications as well.

You can move the files from the old drive to the new one using a data transfer tool or by copying them manually. Once transferred, reinstall the OS and it should recognize the new drive automatically.

I don't believe copying and pasting will be effective. I'm aware there are free tools for finding keys, but I haven't tried any yet so I'm unsure which ones are reliable. Perhaps you could give one a shot (just search online and check the reviews).

Feel free to quote someone if you'd like a response, otherwise they might not notice that you've shared something.
