I recently purchased a new laptop from China featuring Windows 10 Home China. It comes with certain restrictions, like being limited to simplified Chinese display. Naturally, I wanted to replace it with a standard Windows 10 installation. Since I’m not an expert, I searched for guidance and built an installation tool on a USB drive. When asked to choose the installation drive, I received a message saying “no device drivers were found.” This seems unusual. Under the “browse” option, I only saw the USB stick and an “X:” drive. Then I attempted to use “diskpart” from the command prompt, but when I ran “list disk,” only the USB appeared—just 14GB, even though my laptop has a 1TB SSD. In normal operation, the SSD is visible and functioning in BIOS and during booting, but it disappears when trying a clean install. I found several suggestions to reformat or adjust the SSD, but I’m unsure what to do and fear it could worsen the issue. Others mentioned needing a separate driver for the installation media, though I’m not sure which one applies here. I also checked forums for tips like disabling secure boot in BIOS or turning off BitLocker encryption, but nothing has resolved the problem. Could you help or provide more details? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Instead of loading drivers during the selection screen, try downloading and installing them at the drive selection page. For AMD systems, visit the AMD site and download AHCI/RAID drivers. Intel follows the same process. If you're unsure about the Chinese version of the system's homepage, use Google Translate on it. Once unpacked, place the drivers in a separate folder on the USB drive. During installation, select "load driver" when prompted at the disk selection screen, and the disk should appear.

You can check the official website or support page for your specific model. Your i9-13980HX is a 12th-generation Intel processor, so look for drivers compatible with that architecture.

Looking for them is tricky—they’re hard to spot. Could you give me more details about the laptop?

Download the file and place it on your Windows installer USB. 3. If the installer displays only your USB, select Load Driver and point to the folder or the IRST folder inside it. Intel-VMD-13th.zip
