Faced with a complete problem on my recently assembled computer, I'm unsure how to resolve it.
Hey there, I’m really hoping someone can assist me, because this has completely drained my enthusiasm. After two years of saving as someone with limited means, I finally managed to purchase a new PC during Black Friday, and today I assembled it. Everything functioned perfectly, and I received excellent components. However, after about ten minutes navigating the menus in Escape From Tarkov, I encountered a brief black screen on both my main monitor and secondary display, followed by a crash that also affected Discord. At first, I thought it was just Tarkov behaving oddly, but then it kept happening. Even when I adjusted settings in the menu, it would still crash and shut down Discord. I tried disabling hardware acceleration on Discord and checking my BIOS, but it worked fine afterward—even allowing me to join a raid. Later, it started acting up again in another game (SCUM), even launching with perfect performance for about an hour. During that time I monitored temperatures and usage, noticing SCUM consumed 100% of my GPU. Eventually it crashed once more, leaving me frustrated. I searched online but couldn’t find a solution that actually helped; all the games I played worked until they suddenly stopped, crashing in the same way without clear cause. To make things shorter, I checked Google, but nothing seemed to help. In the end, I’m pretty sure Discord crashed roughly 80-90% of the time. If you have any tips or resources, I’d really appreciate it. I don’t have the budget for a full replacement, just want to enjoy what I’ve built. Thanks in advance!
Open Event Viewer, navigate to Windows Logs, select System. Apply filters for errors and critical alerts only. Capture a screenshot and share it here.
It seems this involves about four minutes of work. I didn’t realize how to revise it later, but I think it’s related to background processes. I noticed these crashes only occur when something is running in the background, and I can almost cause them by interacting with Chrome. This time something different happened—I received a crash alert from my AMD software as well. Not sure what it means, Log.CSV.
No noticeable hardware issues detected. Voltages and temperatures appear normal. Possible cause seems to be an AMD driver problem. I plan to install DDU, boot into safe mode, execute DDU, then restart and reinstall the newest display driver. Fingers crossed it resolves the issue.
Alright, I'll give it a try. Thanks for your time and assistance!
I'm not sure this will help much, but I tried something different and it might offer some insight. I observed that dragging a window between monitors caused significant lag, so I moved it back and forth quickly. This led to the secondary screen freezing with the window image, and eventually both screens went black and crashed, which also triggered AMD's crash report again.
Hi there! Glad you reached out. I understand your issue. Both of your games seem to experience this after reinstalling, especially with DDU. Let me know if you need help troubleshooting further!
