Face challenges with smooth performance on your gaming laptop.
Hey everyone. I'm trying to understand why my frame rate stays low even when the laptop shows 70 fps on average with high settings for mfs. I've attached a picture for reference. I set the device to prioritize maximum power through the NVIDIA control panel for mfs, but still experience low power consumption. Here are my specs: an i5-11400H, RTX 3060, 6GB RAM (115-130W), 16GB storage, 3200MHz single-channel RAM (dual channel). I'm using the Gen6 model. The RAM was upgraded to this model via the provided link. Despite that, power usage remains high. The video at 6:21 mentions mfs performance issues.
The RAM I'm employing should outperform the one featured in the video.
They’re not at full capacity, which explains the reduced power draw, and the FPS reading is 59 frames per second. Make sure VSync and the FPS cap aren’t turned on.
Task manager and AIDA 64 display the results. I'm using the trial version, so details are limited. My previous RAM was a dual-channel 1x16, while my new one is a single-channel 1x8. The spec sheet lists the information. On AIDA 64 it shows the RAM at 2667 MHz and Task Manager claims 3200 MHz. BIOS indicates 3200 MHz. The CPU speed is also listed as 3200 MHz. Another image from a Jarrod Tech video shows the same RAM used in an earlier post, with matching specs attached.
