Try using a different tool or technique to loosen the screw without damaging the back plate. If it still won’t come off, consider consulting a professional or using a specialized removal method.

It likely has a counterscrew on the rear of the mobo, which could be causing it to slip. If you can't reach the bracket while the board is in place, you'll need to take it out.

The ends of the bracket appear to have detachable sections, possibly secured by screws beneath them.
