My laptop is an HP EliteBook 840 G6 (i5-8365U, 16GB RAM, Radeon RX 550X). Based on the chat gpt, when I shared a snapshot of my GPU from the sensor tab, it indicated I was severely power limited. Someone can confirm and assist me. Thanks a lot.

I often find it funny to think about people relying on ChatGPT to confirm if something is correct.
First, are you using the newest BIOS for your laptop? Second, since you have an 8th Gen Intel system, you might be able to lower the voltage on the CPU, iGPU, and discrete GPU with ThrottleStop to check if that improves your temperatures.
Third, what are you putting stress on the laptop with? Fourth, is the screenshot from HWInfo or HWMonitor?
Fifth, this could be interesting to explore;

Don't pay attention to the Accidentally Insane claims; what real issues are you experiencing with your laptop?

Performance is slower on my GPU when compared to other older and less efficient ones. Temperatures sometimes don't reach 70°C.

Hi, yes it's listed in the latest bios. I've already tried everything and it's grayed out on throttlestop. If you can help with this, it would be great because I've been trying for a year. I've played games like Days Gone, Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2 and 3 remastered, and GTA5. The problem is my temps never go above 70 or 75. I understand that's okay but it might be an issue—maybe drawing less power? Please check the hwinfo for more details!

The issue seems to be related to the older and less powerful GPUs in various laptops. This could be due to a software problem or unrealistic expectations. The slower performance is likely in specific tasks or applications.

In different laptops, I expect around +20-30fps in certain games, though I haven't quite achieved it. My software settings might not be up to my standards. In GTA5, I see about 30-40 fps with optimized 720p, but at 720p on my GPU and CPU, I should see 60+. My GPU isn't terrible, even if it's not great. Temperature could also be a factor, like power-limited GPU issues.

It's a laptop.
There isn't much you can do regarding the available power.

Additional possible concerns:
Malware detected.
Complete SSD storage.

I have SSD space and no malware. I also just ran a system check on my temps and shared the results with GPT, which indicated that both GPU and CPU are experiencing significant power throttling, suggesting they aren't receiving enough power. Is there a solution to this issue?
