I deleted Itunnes and rebooted the PC completely. No improvement—still consuming about 40% of the CPU power. I’m considering going back to a backup from about a week ago to check if it resolves the problem.
Of course, I need to go to work. I’m hoping I’ll have some time this evening to fix the problem.
Win 10 isn't utilizing DirX 12 because no games are available yet. The setup of DirX12 in Win10 is backward compatible, meaning it should support older versions. This process will confirm the installation status: press Windows+X, select "run," choose the type and enter dxdiag
It was a "System" file located in the System 32 folder on Windows. Interestingly, after rebooting the PC, CPU usage dropped back to under 10% during idle time. I’m not sure what resolved it, but I’m relieved it’s fixed. Now I’m concerned about possible recurrence and don’t know the exact solution. Thanks for all the assistance! Your support means a lot.
