I chose to remove the root from my device by using the unroot button in the SuperSU app. After performing the removal and restarting, I tried a Root Check app again. It reported that no root was found. Since software updates and the secret tab in Samsung Browser didn’t help, what should I try next? My phone is a Galaxy J5 from 2015 with Android 6.0.1.

No, I didn't create a backup before you rooted it.

You caused a problem with KNOX. In short, you damaged an eFuse, canceling your warranty and setting your device to custom mode.
