You're looking for a way to extract just the audio from your concert DVDs after they've been converted with HandBrake. That's a common task, and there are several methods you can try depending on your software and needs.

It was always possible to export as an MP3, but you should create a backup first for clear reasons.

Open Audacity, import your audio file, then use the audio editor to add sound. Once done, export the project as MP3, OGG, or FLAC.

It seems Freemake Video Converter works by converting videos into audio formats such as .mp3 or .aac. This is based on my small understanding, but other tools like Handbrake might handle similar tasks too.

Attempted conversion to a sound file like WAV or AIFF. Downloaded the file and antivirus software detected issues.

When you're ready to send it out, set up the LAME encoder for them. I've tried it with .flv and .mp4 files, including mp3 and ogg vorbis, and it functions properly for me.

The video file's audio codec could be unsupported. That's the situation. Apologies, as I can't assist further with this.

It's interesting, though I suppose most open-source options still include typical browser add-ons during setup. I haven't seen anything that requires opting out. I rely on it regularly and, to my knowledge, it's fairly recognized.
