You should reattach the head spreader to the ram stick that came off. The leftover black thermal tape is not crucial. To remove the residue, use a clean cloth or brush gently. Thank you.

It seems the information is about a tape used for heat transfer. The purpose likely includes both heat conduction and direct contact with a heat spreader, possibly using a compatible material like isopropyl alcohol.

It was significant, yet without the HS it becomes meaningless.

I would retain the thermal pad alongside the heat spreader, as its role is to conduct warmth away from the components

Heat spreaders are rarely needed for RAM today since they’re mainly for appearance. You can skip them. For adhesion, 3M double-sided tape works well, and you can also use thermal tape instead of the old one. You’ll find these products at electronics supply stores or online retailers.

If you're certain about it, fine (though I'm not sure if it's essential, so no judgment here). I don't know where to purchase them, but without heat spreaders, you might want to use thermal tape.
